August Wrap-Up

I definitely feel a little better after taking the month off from my blog. I've decided that I'll probably be coming back mid-way through September. Or maybe at the end of September. It just depends because I have loved not stressing about getting things posted. Though I will be doing a few of the Top Ten Tuesday memes before I 'officially' come back because there are some that sound too fun to pass up.

I am excited for getting back to blogging, but I want to make sure I'm ready and not just coming back because I think I'm 'supposed' to. (I have a post on that coming later, when I'm back.)

What I've been reading…
Yay! Lookit me, I've actually been reading. Not a lot, but this is progress.

A Tyranny of Petticoats by Various Authors - **** (stay tuned for the review!)
Dogs: Bullets & Carnage Vol. 4 by Shirow Miwa - ****

Dogs: Bullets & Carnage Vol. 5 by Shirow Miwa - ****

In a House Made of Bones and Teeth by Alyxandra Harvey - ***
Mechanica by Betsy Cornwell - ***** (stay tuned for a review!)

Truthwitch by Susan Dennard - * (stay tuned for review!)
What I've been watching…

I rewatched season one of The Flash - and that was even more fun the second time around. I also rewatched volume one (which is the first two series) of Primeval and it was really good. I actually liked it more the second time. And I rewatched Power Rangers Jungle Fury. Nothing else to really say because there is totally a reason it's still my favorite season.

I watched season four of Falling Skies. It was really good. I am looking forward to the fifth and final season, but the show…I think the first two seasons were the best.

I don't usually talk about movies, but I've got to make special mention of a stellar movie I watched this month. Pacific Rim. Honestly, that movie is just so incredibly, totally awesome. I really don't know what took me so long to finally watch it. Because I loved it.

So, that's been my month. I'm still taking my time getting back to blogging, but I'm excited to get back - so that's a good sign.

Yay, I'm so glad you're back! Or, at least, planning to come back soon! :) I can't wait to see what you have to say about A Tyranny of Petticoats, because, as with most short-story collections, I need a push to start it.
I'm on the verge between wanting to read and taking Truthwitch off my tbr, because I heard so many mixed things about it. I'm looking forward to see your reasons for not at all enjoying it.
Hope September will be a better month reading-vise for you! (Though 6 novels and all those shows + Pacific Rim are not such a bad accomplishment. :D )

I'm glad to be back, too. I've been working on posts and remembering why I like blogging so much - so that's been good. As a whole, I like A Tyranny of Petticoats (and this is coming from a person that seldom reads anthologies) but my review will break it down by stories, and there are some that were really amazing. Oh, Truthwitch! It started off well enough, but just was such a disappointment for me. I definitely get into it in my review.

Thanks! I'm really happy with how much I got read in August and September has been shaping up to be great.
