2016: End of Year Book Survey

This was partially inspired by Jamie's awesome yearly survey over at The Perpetual Page Turner. But I definitely customized with some of my own stuff. (And I'm also not going to duplicate books. If I've already answered them for something, that book can't be my answer again.)

The Stats
Number of Books Read: 146 (being a few days early as I know that number will go up yet)
Total Pages Read: 42,771 (whohoo!)
Number of Audiobooks Listened: 0 - I don't usually do audiobooks.
Number of Rereads: 1 - I'm going to try to do more next year!
Average Rating: 3.99 (which, really, isn't bad)
Shortest Book: Overtime by Avon Gale (12)
Longest Book: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (759)
Average Book Length: 240 (I was actually hoping that the average would be a little higher than that...)

By The Number Books
Fantasy Books Read: 66 (20 more than 2015)
Sci-Fi Books Read: 42 (16 more than 2015)
Historical (inc. AU) Books Read: 18 (4 less than 2015)
Romance Books Read: 29 (15 more than 2015)
Contemporary Books Read: 23 (2 more than 2015)

Looking Ahead

One Thing I Want To Accomplish Next Year: Socialize more. I want to develop a habit of really talking to people on the internet. (Which, currently, I kinda suck at doing...)

Not my divider;
but I forgot where
I got it from!

Oooh you've done so great this year, Amy! My goal was 75 books and I just finished my 81st one so I'm happy xD Hope next year's even better for you! Good luck <3

Thank you. A HUGE chunk of those books were December reads for me, so it's ALWAYS great to end on a high note. And congrats on passing your goal!
Congrats, Amy! You totally killed your challenge in 2016! (still want to say THIS year, ugh) Beauty and the Beast was damn amazing! (On a side note, so glad you mentioned that, because it reminded me that I gave it 4 stars, but I didn't remember mentioning it on my outstanding 4-star list, so I went to check GR, and IDK what the heck I was doing, but it somehow ended up being saved as if I'd read it in 2014?? Ugh.)
But back to your list, Ink and Bone really does have such a pretty cover - I like how simplistic it is, yet it still grabs my attention.
I'm so bad at socializing, too - super-afraid to tweet/DM/chat with people I don't know, because I'm always afraid I'm annoying them. Need to work on that!
Hope 2017 will be an even better reading year for you! :)

I love K.M. Shea's writing and if you enjoyed Beauty & the Beast I totally recommend checking out her Snow Queen duology that stars with Heart of Ice. I'm not even good at socializing with people I know because, just by nature, I'm very introverted and, honestly, it's a lot of work for me. (And I won't even go into stressing out.) But, yeah, I'm definitely going to try pushing myself to socialize this year. Thanks, Vera!
