October Book Haul

You know, I actually went looking for a graphic for this and it turns out that I never made one. I thought I did, so I might sometime, but for now, enjoy the book pictures.

(Also, you know how I claimed last month that I had to buy an epipen. Well, I should have, but I didn't. I don't think I'll spend over 400 dollars plus a doctor's visit just to get a prescription for something I might not need and hope to never use. (And to just have to do it all again in a year.) I will just pray that I never get stung by a wasp and, if I do, I turn out to not be allergic. I know, it's a bad idea and probably stupid, but I think the medical field in my country is very crooked. Anyone live in Canada (where you don't need a prescription and where the epipens cost less than a fourth of what they do here) and want to mail me one?)

Needless to say, I kind of binged on my book buying out of frustration and because I bought none last month.

Woah, so many gorgeous books. *-* Unfortunately, I haven't read any of them but many are on my to-read list. I'm super-excited for Reawakened because I love Egyptian culture, and I can't wait to hear you thoughts on it because I've been seeing mixed reviews about it. Stitching Snow is another novel I'm very excited about, and I love the cover of it too, same about Mechanica. Oh, and I'm perhaps the most excited for The Wrath and the Dawn, even though I'll wait with reading it until after the sequel comes out.
Great post! :)

Yeah, I think I went on a buying binge this month. Oh well, I enjoy doing that occasionally. (Making that a monthly event would make me one very broke blogger though.) I've been hearing mixed things on Reawakened, too, Veronika - but I knew I had to read it because this world seriously needs more Egyptian fantasy/historical/fiction. As long as it's accurate, I think I'll be doing okay. (I couldn't resist and read the first couple paragraphs when it came in and the main girl comes off as a bit abrasive and really...confident. I have high hopes for her, now.) Stitching Snow does have a gorgeous cover, and the apple design (which I realized after staring at it way too long) is actually circuits! I've heard mixed things about Mechanica - mostly that it's really slow and some have called it boring - but it was a 'must buy' when the author of A Wicked Thing reviewed it on her blog and talked about the great depiction of females in the book. (Something I'm always on the lookout for more of.) I don't even know if I'll read The Wrath and the Dawn before the sequel releases, but I have learnt the hard way to never buy more than one book by an author I've never read before. Hopefully it'll be great, but I've learnt to be cautious.
