Top Ten Books To Read If You Like These Super Popular Books

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

I'm actually not a big reader of really popular books or authors, but that's what this prompt was for. I have actually been thinking about doing a couple of posts like this, even though I'm always terrified of giving suggestions for books to read that are similar to certain books. But, I decided to give it a go and hope you find something here to read! I would like to note that I don't personally put all these books on the same level - I like some a lot more than others - but the ones I paired all have something in common that reminded me of each other as I was reading them or while thinking about them.

Three Books To Try If You Like: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Three Books To Try If You Like: Uprooted by Naomi Novik

Two Books To Try If You Like: Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Two Books To Try If You Like: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

There we have it. I'm honestly kind of nervous about this list. I definitely don't want my parallels to be the only reason any of you would choose to read a specific book - but if you really liked one in the group it couldn't hurt to take a look at the others. Some of these a similar in plot, others in characters and yet others in setting, but there's something in each of these that reminded me of the 'super popular' book.

Hi! I'm not always a fan of super popular books either :) I saw the Paper Magician on another list and it looks interesting.

Yeah, I really enjoyed The Paper Magician and it's a pretty unique book.
I desperately wanted to read Hex Hall a few years back but they kept changing the Hungarian pub date for more than a year and back then I didn't read English books so I never got around to read it. But I do trust in your recommendations so I might read it one of these days. Do you think I would enjoy it? We talked about books before so maybe you can decide for me. :) No pressure. Reading The Paper Magician is in my plans but at this point I'm not sure I'll ever get around reading it. Really great list, Amy, and thanks for the recommendations. :)

Ugh. No pressure, huh? ;) I think how much a person would like Hex Hall can be summed up by how much they like a certain type of humor. The kind of humor that's SUPPOSED to be funny. I really wish I had a review to point you towards, but I read the book before I started reviewing books. I don't do so well with books that are humor/comedy books, and I really don't know if you do or not. (That's me though, with my totally inappropriate sense of humor.) I honestly would steer most people away from the book - but everyone else loves it. And this is me, being undecisive. (Maybe check out some quotes and see if you like the humor in them?) If this is about my recommendations though, I would totally recommend The Paper Magician before Hex Hall.
I would like to read Hex Hall. :)

Thanks! Honestly though, this is the only way I even THOUGHT of doing it until I saw some of the other awesome lists.
The Hero and The Crown was one of my favourite books when I was younger, such an amazing heroine. Glad to see it on a list!

Cool! I definitely think older books need some love to.
Graceling and Crimson Bound are both on my TBR!

Awesome! I hope you enjoy both of them.
So many of these are on my TBR pile! I will definitely be checking out your recommendations for Uprooted alternatives. That book was amazing! Hex Hall is also on my soon to read list.

Happy Reading
